Fluid-Bag's team receives renewed IBC container inspection certification

Kristian Brunell and Magnus Östman from Fluid-Bag recently attended a certification course for inspecting Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs).

The training, which is mandatory to renew every five years, was held by Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE), an independent governmental research institute.

Theoretical and practical elements covered in the course

The course covered both theoretical and practical elements, including how to properly check IBC containers.

"The training was very good. We gained both general and specific knowledge and were able to discuss and contact other course participants", says Kristian.

During the course, our manufacturing of flexible IBC containers garnered interest from other participants.

"We at Fluid-Bag are still quite unknown and perhaps a bit of an ‘odd bird’ in parts of the bulk packaging industry, compared to traditional containers. But it's a lot of fun to be able to talk to others about our concept, what different types of products our bags are suitable for, how to use the equipment, and such. The reactions are always curious!"

Review of rules and inspection of IBC containers

The course covered a review of rules and classification, type testing, marking, documentation, and control. The participants also had practical exercises, such as inspecting an IBC container externally and internally to approve it for use.

"One part of the test consisted of inspecting an IBC container, that is, examining it both externally and internally to approve it for use", Kristian remarks.

Both our Fluid-Bag participants passed the course, resulting in renewed certification for the company to check IBC containers.

All in all, this ensures continued and improved work in Fluid-Bag's product and quality tests.
